The 30 hour famine is something our church will be participating in, that involves a 30 hour fast (duh) and other services. It is designed to raise awareness to see how it feels to really be hungry. We will also be building cardboard box houses to sleep in at night to get a feel for what it's like to be impoverished.
Kids just like you are seeing their friends and families die from hunger - 26,000 every day, 14,000 just from hunger and malnutrition alone. That's one child every 3 seconds. They're counting on you to care. Do you care? I know your own life is busy, but do you have room to care for someone else as well? If so, you should get involved. Starve for Food! Here is a link where you can donate ($5 minimum) and every dollar counts. $1 can feed a child for a day, and that will be 1 less child that dies because of your contribution. Even if you do not wish to donate, tell your friends and family and get the message across. Just remember, YOU can make a difference and save lives.
